July 2025 Update
The month of July 2025 began on a colourful and creative note.
Students of SPJ Sadhana School participated in the Annual Art Competition “Colours” an initiative of Concern India Foundation, at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS). We are happy to announce that two of our students won prizes in the competition. Ms. Chandralekha Kandukuri won 1st prize and Ms. Khushi Agrawal won 3rd prize. The school is proud of our students' achievements.



Selections for the Special Olympics State Level Swimming Championship were held at the S.P. College Tilak Road Swimming Pool, Pune. At this event, 90 sportspersons participated from various districts including Pune, Mumbai, Thane, Nashik, Aurangabad, Raigad and Solapur. Three sports persons from SPJ Sadhana School participated in this event, Mr. Ayaan Menon and Ms. Sakina Takulla and Mr. Aditya Akhadkar participated energetically in the 50 metres and 100 metres Freestyle events, accompanied by the Sports Teacher and their parents. All the athletes were able to cope with the event and showed tolerance in adjusting to the hectic schedule. The experience has motivated them to train harder and aim higher in future championships.



S.P.J Sadhana School organised the Special Olympics Young Athlete Programme for junior students and their parents. This is an innovative sport and play programme for students designed by the Special Olympics Association to train and introduce them to the world of sports, prior to participating in the Special Olympics official sports at the age of 8 years. The programme includes active games, songs and other play activities that help students to develop the basic skills involved in various sports, as well as enhancing their gross motor and fine motor abilities. This training encourages the students and builds their selfconfidence while enjoying and sharing the teaching aids in the process of exploring the Young Athlete activities. Three sports teachers from other organizations, 15 students, their class teachers and their parents attended this programme.



Seventeen students from the Department of Special Education (DSE), SNDT University, Juhu Campus, accompanied by Dr. Kanchana Roy, visited SPJ Sadhana School for practical exposure in the fields of Disability, Rehabilitation, and Special Education. The visitors rated the school’s physical environment as “Excellent”, appreciating its spacious layout, cleanliness, hygiene, and inspiring decor. They highlighted the use of modern technology in teaching, the holistic and integrated model of education, and the effective use of multiple intelligences to enhance child development. Creativity in teaching, individualized attention, and progression from concrete to abstract learning - especially in the formative years - were highly praised. The students admired the coordinators, therapists, and staff for their kindness and expertise, and commended the excellent teacher student ratio. Therapies such as hydrotherapy, music therapy, and snoezelen therapy were noted as a major strength, especially since they were all available under one roof. Vocational training, particularly hands-on hospitality training, received special appreciation. The visitors concluded that the experience not only deepened their professional learning but also taught them patience, generosity, and the value of inclusive education.



A Parent Interaction Day was scheduled to enable discussions between parents and teachers regarding the student’s goal, the portion for the term and the Disha curriculum selected goals.

Selected students of the Vocational Training Class were invited to an interesting dining experience at the inauguration of the restaurant Wagamama, which brings Communal Ramen Dining to Mumbai, in partnership with K-Hospitality.



An incredible Chefs for Good programme is organised by KHospitality and K Corp. Charitable Foundation. This is an on-going Culinary Training Collaboration with Sadhana School, with the specific learning objectives of training the students to prepare simple recipes like salads, sandwiches, waffles, milkshakes, smoothies, mocktails, etc. The generosity and commitment of the organization has created a truly inspiring and enriching experience for the students of the Hospitality and Catering Department at S.P.J Sadhana School, sparking confidence, skill and purpose in every chef's journey.



The first introductory PTA meeting was held, with the newly appointed parents who form the PTA Committee for the academic year 2025-2026. The Principal mentioned the expectation of wholehearted participation and commitment from each PTA Committee Member.

Guru Purnima Day was celebrated with the students expressing gratitude for the love and guidance they receive from their teachers. The students performed Guru Vandana by reciting shlokas, making cards and offering flowers, which were joyfully received by the teachers.



The school received a one-day visit from representatives of the KLE Society, an educational organization in Karnataka which is establishing a new school for special needs children. The purpose of the visit was to observe and learn from the facilities and practices in use for special children at S.P.J Sadhana School, with a special focus on the classrooms, curriculum implementation, vocational training programmes, therapeutic facilities, and other resources that support the education and development of special needs children. The team also interacted with the teachers and the management to understand the requirements of a special school and the challenges that would be faced. The visiting team felt that the interaction and the learning from the visit to S.P.J Sadhana School was an invaluable experience.



Thus the month of July provided a series of useful and meaningful experiences.
