February 2026 Update
The month of February 2026 a flurry of activity filled the air as students and teachers rehearsed for the upcoming concert. Learning was shaped by all the experiences involved in putting up the grand show "Wish Upon A Star", an amazing achievement in which every single student of the school performed on stage and showcased their abilities.

As mentioned by the Principal Ms Fionika Sanghvi in her welcome speech, the Sadhana School Concert is more than just a show. It is an integral part of the holistic training provided by the school, where the curriculum involves nurturing multiple intelligences. Through the performing arts, various concepts and skills are strengthened in a play-way method through fun and games, song and dance, transforming learning into an enjoyable experience. Thus the central idea of the "Wish" has facilitated learning in both curricular and co-curricular areas.

The theme of this year's concert represents how each one of us possesses within ourselves the power and the ability to make our dreams and wishes come true.

S.P.J Sadhana School is truly satisfied with the show, because their Wish came true.... of seeing each student shine!

The concert received immense audience response and appreciation. There was also heart-warming feedback later, from the parents of our young actors. The parent community expressed "heartfelt gratitude for putting together such a brilliant and deeply moving show" , which was "not just a performance, but a celebration of belief, perseverance, and the limitless potential of the children.... a reminder that our children are nurtured by a team that works tirelessly behind the scenes to make them shine."

Most of the feedback messages highlighted "the patience, perseverance, dedication and invisible hard work" of the teachers in helping the students to shine, and expressed their amazement at the "confidence, composure and courage" that the students displayed on stage. Others stressed that the "conviction of the team in the students...is so heartening... the effort, love and patience clearly showed". The feedback also highlighted how the team of teachers had thoughtfully selected ways of showcasing each child according to individual abilities. One member of the audience even suggested that it would have been worth putting this performance on "bookmyshow".

The month of February also included several other events.

7 of our athletes participated in the 27th Lions International Special Olympics District Swimming Competition at the YMCA. The participants included students from Grade III, Pre-Vocational, Visual Arts and Craft, Office Procedure Class and Hospitality and Catering Departments. The school is proud to announce that our students won 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze medal

The Rotary Queen City Half Marathon was held at the Bharat Diamond Bourse, BKC, an event in which three students enthusiastically participated.

The school received a visit from Nalanda Public School. The visiting team included 82 students from Grade 7 accompanied by 4 teachers. Students of both schools happily participated together in team games and individual games. They enjoyed interacting with each other and sharing snacks. The Nalanda school teachers were grateful for this meaningful interaction. Awareness and friendship is built by such events /interactions.

The school was invited by the CSR Committee of CCI to be Special Guests at their Annual Event, a Celebration of Inclusivity and Diversity: "Love and Dosti is in the air... A bond so true, beyond compare". The event consisted of a Fashion Show, with participants from various schools dressed as a Bollywood Artiste, or a Sportsperson or a National Leader. Our students enjoyed attending and participating in this event.

Students of SPJ Sadhana School participated in the Educational Enrichment Excursions (EEE), which form an important part of the school curriculum, based on the belief that learning does not only happen within the four walls of the classroom, and that sometimes the most powerful learning is derived from experiences.

18 students from the Vocational Department participated in a two-day excursion to Gujarat, to the Statue of Unity and to the Laxmivilas Palace Vadodara, with an action packed itinerary that kept the students engaged from morning till night. The students were over-awed by the sight of the world's tallest statue, the Statue of Unity. They experienced the unique Jungle Safari, were captivated by the spectacular Sound and Light Show, were filled with awe by the serene Narmada Aarti, and were amazed by the magical lights of the Glow Garden.

Students from the Intermediate Department participated in a two-day EEE excursion to Alibaug. The trip was carefully planned to ensure that learning emerged from enjoyable experiences, helping the students to develop independence in daily living skills, social interaction, sensory awareness and daily living skills in a natural setting.

During the trip the students followed a visual itinerary which supported them in adapting to a new routine and helped them feel confident and prepared. During the excursion they practised many important life skills such as sharing rooms with peers, maintaining personal privacy, taking responsibility for their own belongings, packing/unpacking their own bags, choosing food, learning appropriate table manners and eating etiquette, etc. The trip also trained them in safety awareness and appropriate behaviour in public places. A highlight of the excursion was the sensory experience at the beach, where they explored the environment by feeling the sand, listening to the sound of the waves, observing the natural surroundings and learning the rules of safety near water. The trip also encouraged teamwork and friendship with peers. On returning from the excursion, learning was reinforced in the classroom through follow up activities involving picture talk and discussions.

Thus the excursions were a memorable experience that successfully blended fun with meaningful learning.

The school is filled with immense pride that the prestigious Deepajyoti Award was presented to Ms. Tejal Kothari, who was selected as one of only six awardees from special educators across India. Sadhana School is also delighted to share that Ms. Kashmira Vazifdar has been recognised among the Top 15 Finalists, receiving a Finalist Trophy and Acknowledgement for her Commendable Achievement. The Deepajyoti Awards 2026, are instituted by Deepika Special Needs School. These awards are a highly respected, expert driven platform celebrating excellence in the field of Special Education. Sadhana School is truly proud of this heart-warming recognition.

Thus the month of February 2026 was truly rewarding in terms of performances, experiences and recognition.
