UPDATES FOR AUGUST 2018
EVENTS:
On
23rd August 2018, the Office Procedure Department celebrated Dhaval Bhodia's birthday at Creeda Board Game Café. The visit was unique as the students were entertained with board games and spent a totally engrossed afternoon, independently interacting and achieving goals. It was a successful exercise in constructive performance, showing how far the department has achieved its goals in social integration. 'Kudos to the OPC Department'.
For the Special Assembly held on 13th & 14th August 2018 to commemorate the 71st Independence Day the students enacted short skits, expanding on the theme "Proud to be Indian". The event was the brainchild of the Principal. Ms. Fionika Sanghvi. It was an edifying experience as themes ranged from Humour, 'Demonetization' through intensive Gymnastics, Yoga, and Dance to Math in Ancient India.
On 4th August 2018, a team of Volunteers from Deutsche Bank collaborated with the S.P.J. Sadhana, in creating Murals across the school. The Murals were designed to showcase the educational and social skills which underline "Learning with Fun" which is the essence of the school education programme.
On 23rd July 2018, Naveen Veernaga's birthday was celebrated which he was able to assimilate and enjoy for the first time.
SPORTS:
On 26th August 2018, Pooja Patel from the Visual Arts and Craft Department participated in Maharashtra Kamgar Kalyan Mandal Aquatics Competition, Home Gala 2018. She secured 3rd place in the 50 mtrs Free Style and 25mtrs Breast Stroke events.
25th Aug 2018: 18 students participated in AWMH Maharashtra State Level Table Tennis Tournament at Goregaon Sports Club. They have won 3 Gold, 6 Silver, 8 Bronze & 1 Copper medals. Congratulations to all students for their exceptional performance.
Ms. Kimberly Nunes was invited to attend Special Olympics Bharat National Leadership Conference – Leading a change – 50 & beyond as a part of Special Olympics 50 year celebrations in New Delhi from 16th to 18th August 2018.
VISITING FACULTY & VISITORS:
SPJ Sadhana School welcomes Shivani Vakil Savant into its environs as Producer and Director of this year's Annual Concert. Shivani, the producer and co-founder of theatre group 'hi9h-pot-in-use-bri-on9le', has been a luminary of the Theatre world for the past 20 years. She has conducted workshops in many schools and non-profit organizations, and written and directed plays for schools. In 2010, she wrote and co-directed a play which was performed by children with special needs at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh. "WELCOME SHIVANI TO OUR SCHOOL.
On 23rd August 2018, the Rotary Club and Bombay Peninsula President Mr. Vikas Vakharia with Mrs. Shruti Vakharia and their team visited Sadhana School. We are very grateful for their generosity, especially in sponsoring a child.
