April 2022 Update
As the academic year comes to an end, April 2022 has been a month of varied events.

On Thursday 1st April 2022, to celebrate World Autism Day, the School invited the parents and students to participate in the Lighthouse Rhythm circle, where people have an opportunity to bond together through rhythm. The event was a great success.



On 7th April 2022, SPJ Sadhana School, on behalf of the Special Olympics Bharat conducted the Amrut Mahotsav Health Camp, a health survey for special students from across Maharashtra. The initiative was to avail all students of a complete medical check-up and the maintenance of their health history for future utilization.



Open Days were conducted online to discuss the progress of the students through the year. The staff and parents participated in in-depth discussions to ascertain the progress of each students and the way forward. The participation of the entire staff simultaneously gave the parents a detailed overall assessment of the student.

On 14th April 2022, the Principal Ms. Fionika Sanghvi and Coordinator EIC Ms. Kashmira Vazifdar attended a workshop for Educators on Child Protection Policy in Schools. The workshop entailed discussions on the essential requirements of a Child Protection Policy and to understand the framework of Child Protection Policy in schools. SPJ School has been deeply interested in child protection and has compiled its own policy for this. These ideas were shared by Ms. Sanghvi and Ms. Vazifdar at the workshop and greatly appreciated.

On 19th April 2022, Ms. Zill Botadkar held a workshop on ‘Art forms in Classrooms’. The workshop concentrated on building strategies in a classroom set up for children with different abilities.



On 22nd April 2022, a Capacity Building Workshop was held by Ms. Dhwani Dhupelia, Art Based Practitioner on an overview of Art Based Therapy.



On 23rd April 2022, the Staff Meeting for the end of the term was held. The staff showed breakthroughs with the students, discussed reports and assessment worksheets made for students. Sr. Pratibha Pinto, introduced Sr. Phil Kilroy of the Society of the Sacred Heart, who gave a talk on the values held by the Society and on the life and work of St. Madeline Sophie, founder of the Society.



Finally, a farewell was held for the staff members who were resigning. Though a sad moment, the staff wished the leaving members great success in their future journey. As the year ends, the staff and students look forward to the re-opening of school in June 2022.
